I have a 12VDC mechanical pulse counter and I want to use it to count the number of times a unit has been powered up.

I need a circuit which will create a 1 sec pulse when it gets a 12V signal and remain off, until power has been re applied. (e.g. re powering the unit).

Thank you for your help. If i put a 100K pot in the place where R2 is in the second schematic, I can get a delay time from 0 to roughly 1 sec right?
