Remove Q3 and read the voltage on the output of the opto isolator without and with pressing the 230 volt button using the 1K resistor.

Here we go again! From a closer look at the opto isolator it switches low when activated not High which explains the 3.25 volts on the output when the button is not pressed. Hang in there a moment while I figure the work around. Do you have another 2N7000?

Are you having the pc board made for you?
@sghioto I noticed that once I power up the system the 230v bulb is lighted for around 2 sec by activating the relay even without pressuring any buttons. Similarly the video doorbell fires without pressing buttons just after I cut the power supply to the system. Video.
I doubted that was happening because of the discharging capacitor. I tested the system without the capacitor and that solved the issue. But when the capacitor is not there I doubt my old 230v doorbell will ring correctly as it makes very brief activations in the relay. Is there any workaround for this while keeping the effect of the capacitor?
Im thinking about this as it may misfire the bells in power failures.
