Hi,

I know this may be a silly question, but I have a circuit problem for homework and I can't figure it out. It requires you to find the power for each resister and each source.

Please explain!

You know how much current flows in the 1Ω and the 3Ω. Power in each is then easily found.

The total current into the top of the centre parallel branch network is
6A-2A=4 A.

Use current divider rule (say) to work out how the current splits in each leg of the parallel network. You can then find the power in the other resistors.

Work out the voltage drop across each current source - then the power delivered by each source will subsequently be found.

Hopefully power from sources = total power dissipated in resistors
or
ƩP=0
