I was given a electro voice q66 amp that was damaged by chili being spilled it looks like on the main power board. I think it was turned on before the spill was known and caused the components leads to bridge frying it. I’m comfortable going in and swapping out known parts for basic repair but this a bit over my head as the component is almost completely destroyed. I have the schematic and I think I traced it but it doesn’t seem to match the remaining parts. Any direction or help is appreciated.

 

It looks like the board is marked R1 which is on the schematic as a 9.1K resistor. I don't think that this is correct however.
If you look at the schematic on the right side is a box created by a dashed line. In there reference CN12 which is connected to one side of the damaged part. I think that part has the number 348550 (which is R65) or perhaps part number 330404 which is marked as part E1
In either case, you need to trace the other side to see where it goes and match it to the schematic for confirmation. You will need to get a part designation from the manufacturer's part number as well.

I punched in your numbers on a search and came up with this, it looks to match the shape of the left over peices. Though the place I found this said it’s discontinued. Is there a go to place that could have this part? Nothing came up for me on eBay or general google search.

I guess my question is trying to use something comparable. The ten denotes the 10 ohm I’m assuming. What does the 0844 represent and do you think I could use something similar and get by or would it need to be pretty specific on specs. I’m trying to read up more on thermistors but have yet to form a conclusion. Thank you

 

Manufactured the 44th week of 2008. Look at the listings at Digikey, Mouser, Newark, and perhaps Arrow, and pick the largest one that will fit the footprint and has the correct lead spacing.
