Need help in Aptitude Question

@RRITESH KAKKAR

I must 'take my leave' as it were -- should you wish to continue tomorrow or next week please contact me via a post on this thread or to my PM --- As stated above any further assistance will require a clear statement/understanding of your goals!

Sincerely, best regards
HP :)

Because I'm feeling truly evil I offer this:

'Tis basic stuff indeed -- but are you up to it???

Via the 'numeric method' of vector addition:
(10∠0) + (6∠45) = (10+3*√2)∠(3*√2) ≈ 14.24∠4.24°

However, via the parallelogram law:
(10∠0) + (6∠45) = 2*√(15*√2+34)∠ArcTangent((15*√2-9)/41) ≈ 14.86∠16.59°

Explain the discrepancy??? (i.e. identify the essential error in the forgoing) --- Warning!!! NO holds are barred!!!:cool::cool::cool::D

A satisfactory response will go far in 'redeeming' you!:) -- Failing which -- you'll be on the dean's other list!!!:D

With jaded regards
HP

PS "satisfactory" does not mean asking for the solution!!!

HP you are meaning this when you say law of cosines but I say better to call it triangle law cuz ambiguous terminology, just saying:) Sorry if bold and symbols don't work:oops:

r1*cos(Θ1)+r2*cos(Θ2) ∠ r1*sin(Θ1)+r2*sin(Θ2)

Edit to say I like question cuz it bridge gap of abstract musings and common sense:)!

Indeed! I was thinking 'cosine/sine' law which, FWIW, I feel is rather more a method than a law...
I'll edit it at once!

Many genuine thanks:):):)
All the best
HP

As regards the exercise presented by post #755

Lest I be thought a jerk (heaven forbid!:D) I have further qualified the required 'task' (stated on the line beginning with "" ) --- Note: such is not a hint - but, merely, 'fair play':):):)

Please answer the question!!!

With which areas of mathematics do you require assistance!!!

--Edited for literacy--
Actually, i was following this to have more Reasoning power.

It seems to me that data sufficiency (i.e. 'verbal') exercises are your principal 'problem area'? --- Once you've stated the problem mathematically you seem to have no difficulty -- Thoughts?
Yes verbal will also be better.
