Need some advice on a circuit design to drive some LED's for about 2 to 3 minutes. I need to trigger with a momentary switch. 12vdc 5amps max. Are there any cost effective available components out there or any example circuits?

An LM555 or NE555 will work well as the chip. Also, a good MOSFET transistor like an IRF530 will work well in the circuit below.
