Hello sghioto,
I was wondering if you could show a schematic of this circuit using P channel Mosfets, instead of N channel Mosfets. I have heard that you don't want to switch the ground side if you use a circuit in a motorcycle or a car, you want to switch the hot side.

Just curious to know your thoughts on this matter.

Doesn't really make any difference since it's an independent circuit meaning not connected to any other electronics in the vehicle.
However using P channel mosfets will reduce the component count.
I'll draw up the circuit when I get home.

First thing to notice is the 555 flasher circuit is wire different than before to drive the mosfets.

 

Thank you, interesting using pin 7, and resistor changes to the 555 timer too with cap and 100k resistor

If you mean Q1 and Q2 they are P channel .
Q3 is a N channel.

I see that now but look what my search showed me, turns out it is a P channel but says N channel here in this pic

It's been awhile. Question: do I need decoupling capacitors on the 555timer to stop "ignition noise" on a motorcycle that may lock up the 555 timer? Thanks
