Not much to smile at:
I shouldn't really watch these as my blood pressure goes through the roof!
I have seen a few before on Scientology and read a few books on it, including miscavige's own daughter's book on leaving the cult.
But I just started watching the new series by ex member Leah Remini, good watch so far.

I read Remini's book, as well as the one you've mentioned. Very enlightening.

Watched a couple of good Nova's, Secrets of the Shining Knights, How armour was made and an effort to re-create it.
Stonehenge Revisited, a modern up date on the origins and its people.

Recently Watched "Hidden Figures" had a few belly laughs and was astonished I had no idea NASA went through so much to put a man on the Moon in spite of the odds.

Watching "The Bucket List" for the third time now... it always gets me in a good mood... one begins to appreciate it even more with age...

 

The last movie that made me laugh was the part 2 of the Kingsman

 

House on 97th St. (atom bomb secrets almost transmitted to Nazi's) Conrad saw the the coils were only 2.5 metre wavelength...knew he could never traverse the Atlantic to contact Hamburg, Germany.

I saw the movie Marshall in a near empty theater last night. A lot of people missed a good movie.

This is a snapshot of the early carreer of Thurgood Marshall. He later became an Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court.

It is a drama, of course, so no belly laughs. I does have a few funny moments, though.

 

I expect this one to make me smile, the trailer sure does.

Just watched Justice League last night, and really enjoyed it. I'm beginning to suspect that there's something (with the exception of Wonder Woman, but I think it's for ideological reasons) that Hollywood doesn't like about DC comics. The "critics" like to bash their movies, even though the general audience approves of them. Case in point: Rotten Tomatoes grades it as a 41% of critics approval, vs 84% of audience approval.

 

Cilian Murphy is one of my favourite actors. Just watched "Breakfast on Pluto", makes you smile, makes you cry great movie...

We watched Darkest Hour the other night. Both of us liked it. Saw Dunkirk a while back....neither of us cared for it. The Greatest Showman was good. Want to see Hostiles.

Great Godzilla, 'bad to the bone'!

 

We went to "The Post" yesterday. A story of some people willing to risk their career and freedom to expose some despicable, spineless people who just keep letting the ball roll down the road.

I stopped by the men's room on my way out and ended up consoling a Vietnam Era vet for about 5 minutes and letting him know his wife would rather know he was crying than not know the movie affected him. Quite an unexpected experience.
