Watched a film "The Book of Brian" starts out slow but picks up later. The story is very telling, I'm a firm believer that people get what they deserve in the end.

I don't have to deliver justice, I'll leave that to destiny, she's a bitch and serves her justice on a plate gone cold.

I haven't finished watching it, but I found it to be too crude for my taste ... thanks for warning me ... now I'm gonna look for something a little more uplifting

 

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad world is on TV right now. I love that movie! That movies never fails to brighten the worst day. Don't know if they could have packed any more stars into that movie.

In caveman days I edited 16mm film at a TVstation. Take a look at the final scene when everyone laughs. (I won't spoil the ending.) The stunt-double does an incredible acrobatic move that flies right by you because it cuts to everyone laughing, unless you watch frame by frame. Check it out.

 

I've just watched "Deepwater Horizon" ... highly commendable ... and especially so if you're an engineer ... *two thumbs up*

 

I took a chance and went to see Solo today (matinee, of course).

Color me surprised. As far as subject matter goes, the film was perfect. I found myself, towards the middle of the film, believing that Alden Ehrenreich was, in fact, a younger Han Solo.

I liken this film more to the original trilogy than to the latest installments. One is not completely overwhelmed by CGI, the characters are believable, and the action is just right -- not overblown just for the sake of it.

I give it two thumbs up.

Watched the documentary on the life of Nikoli Tesla, quite revealing, learned many facts I was not aware of about him.
Including Marconi stealing a couple of his patented ideas to make his first transmission.
One of his failings was no business acumen.

Don't know that it would qualify in the "Makes you smile" category, but one of the more touching films I have seen is "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon. I'll leave it at that other than to say that if you make the effort to watch it, I don't think you will regret it.

Possibly, but I don't think one's been made that's more than six degrees away from him.

 

I highly dig the original mst3k series! Mike Nelson is my favorite host but I'm cool with Joel in the original series too. Most of all the original "Crow T." and "Tom Servo" rock!

In my opinion the reboot (2017?) is a disaster! They should have kept the original cast and impromptu riffing style! It went from classy, knowing, humor and respect for the viewers' eclectic knowledge to three video game obsessed jerks who babel all over the film and won't shut the F. up!
