I don't agree because the current through the armature creates a magnetic field.

Also, a motor does not have to produce rotary motion. Just has to produce mechanical movement. A loudspeaker is an electric motor. Usually an electro-magnetic motor.

A piezo-electric tweeter, for example is an electric motor that is not magnetic. You can also get large electro-static loudspeakers.

But most motors are electro-magnetic!
