More Images per post?

I've run into the 5 image limit on the posts for the LED,555s article. I'm wondering if it would be possible to boost this to 8? If not I can work with it, but there is a slight mismatch between the forums (6 images) and the blogs (5 images).

I'm using this GIF to space the width of the posts to something a little more consistant, basically formatting tols.

Ok Bill, as requested I have raised the blog image limit to 8. Can you test it and make sure you can post up that amount of images. I will keep the forum limit at 6 for the time being as I do not feel it necessary or appropriate to raise that at this time (hence leaving the inconsistency in there!)

Hmm. Can you do me another favour. Could you create a NEW blog entry and try and append 8 images to that. Do you still have a problem? (I would try it but my account has distinctly different permissions to yours).

OK, tried it on a new thread, with similar results. Is it possble that the replies are limited while the first post has expanded privaleges?

Ok, thanks for checking that Bill. I'm not entirely sure, the blog options are quite convoluted and, whereas I am familiar with the intricacies of the forum settings, I am less well versed on the blog settings. I will hopefully get a chance this afternoon to have a look at it in more detail. I will post up because I will probably want you to test it for me.

No problem. And thank you, even if it can't be done.

I'm working on a chapter called The LED / Resistor Only Bargraph.

This sucker could eat image space, because trying to explain it is a bit convoluted. If it is necessary I can merge pictures into one big one, and put Figure designations inside the image.

Thank you! It works! Now I can be twice as obno... informative!

7 was the magic number, I can match the 6 posts allowed in the forum, plus one format image.

It does include other image-based BB-code such as smilies so a liberal interpretation of the limit is worth trialling.

Obviously I will monitor this for abuse and may, if necessary, have to take corrective actions which may include downgrading the limit. I will let you know if I do this so we can work on a solution that is amicable for all.

Just curious (and I'm not asking for names) is there anyone that uses more images than me? I would bet my stuff is on target as to how it is meant to be used.

I notice I have megs of space used for attachments in various posts.

You use it the most, but others do use it quite a bit. See http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/album.php

And that is just the recently updated.

In total, there are nearly 1GB of attachments on the server. That is a pretty big increase on last year.
