Hi,
I am trying to produce a 1 second pulse with the monostable but for some reason, the output is the inverting of the trigger. The following screenshot explains it all:



Any help why this is happening to me would be appreciated

It's supposed to. It's a negative edge triggered device. http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/LM/LM555.pdf page 4, figure 3.

 

If you need a positive going pulse from the circuit you can put an inverter on the output from the 555. That will give the same polarity as your trigger pulse.
