Hi - I have a project that uses a pico projector inside a closed box. The problem is that the projector can only be turned on by pressing the on switch on the projector and then manually (with buttons on the projector) choosing the input source required. I would like to modify the projector's electronics so that it comes on when it is plugged in and automatically choose the hdmi input source - so that I don't keep having to open and close the box to turn it on and off. Any suggestions as to who might be able to help me do that?

The power switch - can be using SSR to control or Relay to turn on/off.
The input source can be using EE interface, but you need to providing some more infos, if the infos are more then you will get more.

 

Many projectors can auto-select a source and can even choose among sources when one is higher quality than another, for instance choosing HDMI over S-video. I guess yours cannot?

 

Does the projector have an IR remote control?
You could use a programmable remote to automate the setup?
