I designed a colpitt oscillator on LT Spice whose output is suppoed to be 1MHz. However, When i run the simulation, it outputs a DC voltage instead of a sin wave. Could you please look into to tell me if I'm doing it correctly and how to generate the sine wave. I have attached the LT SPice file for your convenience. Thanks.

 

For starters, put a real transistor in. Add the STARTUP directive to the the .TRAN command.

 

Look at the value of R1 - does it make sense that the circuit will function as expected with that value of R1?

 

I haven't try this in breadboard, but through changed the values of resistor and set the bjt number, and it works.
