I got an LED Light Strip from Amazon.
It is just a 16 Foot Roll of LEDs on a Strip.

And every 3. Inches or so You can Cut Off what You need.

And You can just put a Plug Adapter on the End.

This is the Adapter
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072XB6GH...d=3I1O5T8NUMS9E&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it_im

So when YouCut the Strip for what You want You will have Two Pins but they do not have Pluss or Minus.
So how do I know how to Plug it in to the Adapter?

LEDs can only work if they get Power the Right Way.

The strip usually has a small + at each point where you can cut.
Note that most of these strips cant be cut anywhere. There’s usually a point every three leds where a cut can be made. If you cut in the wrong place, the last few leds won’t light.

My LED Strip has a Line going across it every 3. Inches.
And yes I did Cut some of it and used it and it worked.

But it was the one End that had a Connector on it.
But it does Say You can keep Cutting it.

So I put the one End in my Scanner and Blue Up the Image.
And I See No Plus Markings or any Markings.

And if I put the Part Number in Amazon it does not Bring Up this Item

It is an LED LIGHT Strip that comes on a Roll.
It is by HitLights.
Part Number L1012v-252-1630-u
Length 16.4 Feet.
Style smd5050- cool white high density

I thought if I can Find the Item again I can Ask them.

I did want to know about these Connectors I will use with it?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072XB6GH9/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3H1S8HVHBGDBK&psc=1

I know the Round Plug will go to the 12 Volt Power Supply.

But if I Cut the Flat Female Part off the other End and Open it up.
Will there be a Red and Black Wire?

I need something like this.
Likely, but why are you cutting anything?

How is the 12V supply terminated? If it has a male plug, then wire the female plug bare ends to the led strip plug connectors watching polarity.

If the power supply is terminated with bare wires, connect them to the bare wires of the male plug. And then wire the female plug as in the last paragraph.

I don’t understand what you’re missing? There are many ways of wiring the plugs and jacks to power and to the led strips. Just ensure that polarity requirements are observed.

I just got this LED Strip
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X5MEHGS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

So I Cut Say 1. Foot Off of it.

Then I just got these Connectors that go on the End of the LED Strip you Cut Off
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...&pd_rd_r=f8d05a89-41dc-42da-9ab1-48b42710b1c8

I can get the Pins to go in but I can not get the Connector to Close.

I push it Hard but it will not Close.

Is there Say 1. Foot LED Strips with Wire End on it?

I would need it as Thin as the LED Strip above.

Did you cut the strip at the pads? It won’t work elsewhere. And it the end of the strip isn’t cut at the pads, the last few LEDs won’t light…

I’ve highlighted the pads in the pic below.

You might need a pair of pliers to close it.

If you have a DMM place it in diode check mode. When the polarity is correct I think you should see forward drop of around 2-3V and open when wrong polarity.

I think I have how this LED Light Strip works from what you Told me?

And then I Drew it out so I could See it.

Here is the LED Strip
https://www.amazon.com/Water-Resist...s=1.+amp+led+strip&qid=1631332383&s=hi&sr=1-7

This Takes 12 Volts at 2. Amps and even if you Cut 1. Foot Off of the 16.4 Feet the 1. Foot still works.

So all the LEDs are Connected in Parallel this is why you still need 12 Volts.

Now if every LED was on the Strip was Connected in Parallel you would need Less Amps as you Cut the Strip.

But even if I have 1. Foot it still Takes 2. Amps to work.

Then you Told me 3. LEDs are in Series then the next 3. LEDs are in Series but they are all in Parallel.

I did not get it till now.

3. LEDs are Connected in Series then the next group of 3. LEDs are Connected in Series.

This goes on till you have a 16.4 Strip of groups of 3. LEDs Connected in Series.

Then every group gets Connected in Parallel.

Do I have this Right?

Your original strip is 5 meters long (16ft) and it draws 5 amps. That is 1 amp per meter. You can cpu it every 5cm (1/20th meter) so each 5cm segment draws 1/20 amp (50mA).

So, no, a short section of 1ft does not draw 2 amps. It draws about 300mA.

I think you’ve finally figured it out.

Sorry I meant is this.

A group of 3. LEDs are Connected in Series then the next group of 3. LEDs are Connected in Series then the next group of 3. LEDs are Connected in Series and so on all the way down the 16.4 Foot Strip.

Then all the Groups of LEDs are Connected in Parallel.

Is this Right?

I have Uploaded a Graphic Image.
