IRLZ44 MOSFET, TO-220 package only?

Hi all

I have tried google, but I am unsure what I should search for, other than 'package'. Does the IRLZ44 come in other packages than the TO-220? Maybe as a chip with several inside, or just smaller?

Thanks!

Nope. But I am sure other mosfet can do what the IRLZ44 can do but in a different package. What do you need?

I need to use the MOSFET to switch 40V 5-ishA, from a microcontroller supplying 5V and 20mA max. The MOSFET
will only be energized for less than a second, maybe half a second.

Thanks for your answers!

Then just use any mosfet that is logic level (Vgsth usually less than about 2.5V and most small fets are), good up to say 60V and Rdson less than about 20mΩ, 10 would be better. The rdson I base on roughly 500mW dissipation, but smaller packages like SOT23 will need to be around 250mW, while big Dpaks and D2paks could go higher to 700mW-1W as a rule of thumb.

See here dual packages http://bit.ly/2k4uuEO
and single packages http://bit.ly/2iYKtB4

Thanks! So, is surface mount mandatory? :) Or do they come in through-hole as well? I would love to have
them in a socket!
