Forbidden Planet filmed in 1956! Geez - 61 years ago.

If you've ever been a fan of those Sy-Fy flicks you may have noticed that in many different films they've reused the same props over and over again. The one I recall seeing the most was those gauges (in Forbidden Planet) when they were in the control room and the monster from the Id was burning through the door. Those gauges that look like Pac Man staring down at his shoes; I've seen them in MANY other films. Go on a Sy-Fy binge and see what other props get used over and over.

Great Sy-Fy from - geez, gotta be close to 50 years ago. NO?
Try over 60 years.

Forbidden Planet is a 1956 American science fiction film from MGM, produced by Nicholas Nayfack, directed by Fred M. Wilcox and starring Walter Pidgeon, ...

One of my favorite films: "Nothing can get through that door. It is made of pure Krel metal." Thinking of that scene still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

The one that scared me out of the crap was "The Day The Earth Stood Still". When Gort opened his visor and that red beam shot out - geez! I was poopless. No stairs, just a ramp.
