I think the historical record (not even including the Bible) proves that Jesus of Nazareth was a real man who walked the earth.I have a question for the Religious here and the 'rest'. Does anyone believe, like Mohammed did for example, that Jesus was just another mortal man.
Probabally not a fair question for some.
Max.
But how many believe he died at the crucifixion?I think the historical record (not even including the Bible) proves that Jesus of Nazareth was a real man who walked the earth.
What I believe is that he is a real man, and the real God at the same time... and I like to speak of him in present tenseI think the historical record (not even including the Bible) proves that Jesus of Nazareth was a real man who walked the earth.

The things I am not aware of fill several sections in the local library.I was not aware being jewish carried a definable genetic marker
If he was a real man (I believe he was) and went around saying what they claim in the places where they claim (I believe he did), then I have no problem believing that they crucified him for it. I'm surprised he got as far as he did.But how many believe he died at the crucifixion?

Would it be ironic if I disagreed with you?42 is the answer. But what was the question? Question is usually more important than the answer I find...
Looking around, I actually see that many people have stopped asking questions, thus no discussion is happening, just shouting and shutting down anyone with opposing "thoughts"
Now you're getting it!42 is the answer. But what was the question? Question is usually more important than the answer I find...
As I mentioned, my interest is mainly in the accurate historical aspect, rather than the religious aspect.I sense a drift Off Topic about whether JC was a physical human and whether the historical account of crucifixion is true
Not enough expressions ones again, thus the like button is far to un-specific.I sense a drift Off Topic about whether JC was a physical human and whether the historical account of crucifixion is true. Is this about personal beliefs about Life, the Universe, and Everything, or is it too specific?
You're talking to me, even if you're not talking to me.If there seems to be no reasonable answer, you're asking the wrong question.![]()
You're right. Looking back to post #1, I AM talking to you, but I'm not in this Thread to correct you. I'm in it because the conversation is necessary for those of us who haven't resolved the issue for ourselves. You're talking to me, even if you're not talking to me.
That's sort of true but then where you want to be and why plus what lengths you are willing to go to, again, plays a significant role in things as well. Counter to what some any claim everyone of us in the America and most developed countries have the means and capacity to pack up and move to some other location where we can get what we want for far less and often times get non standard jobs that pay extramly well if we are willing to travel and or do actual hard work for a while.I also agree with this to an extent. If you don't want to be a slave to debt, you do have the option to live a very minimalist lifestyle and avoid it. But let's say you want to save up your earnings to one day buy a house... It's a moving target that gets harder and harder when you're competing against people leveraging the power of debt slavery. By the time you save up $100k for that shanty by the wastewater treatment plant, it will probably be worth $150k and there will be a line of people with blank bank checks fighting over it.
And I can make fire, pick up heavy things and survive cold weather better than many but that does not make me a neanderthal despite my possible 1 - 3 percent genetic links to them! But why not?
....But as I mentioned before I did have long hair and was good at wood work.
Max.
I can't wait to hear back from you when you do solve it...You're right. Looking back to post #1, I AM talking to you, but I'm not in this Thread to correct you. I'm in it because the conversation is necessary for those of us who haven't resolved the issue for ourselves.![]()
Don't hold your breath.I can't wait to hear back from you when you do solve it...
What I'm finding online seems to imply being Jewish is a combination of both religious belief and cultural heritage of which neither carry a distinct of definable genetic marker for any more than saying I am Roman or Greek because some genetic variant in my DNA say that I had some ancient ancestor that matched those associated genetic markers of those cultures of the time. The things I am not aware of fill several sections in the local library.
Are you seeking confirmation of a, "Jewish" gene?
Perhaps you should ask one of the gene testing labs.
