If so, did you try to manipulate the image?

Here i how I did it:
Open the image with the lanes.

In Gel analyzer option, I did put the vertical scale at 0.4.

Draw a box around the first lane and type CTRL+1
Move the box to the next lane and type CTRL+2
Do this also for the other lanes.
When finished, type CTRL+3.

I downloaded but on this machine I cannot install. Have to wait tomorrow on my lab system.

The software seems very well built. But this should be integrated in a bigger machine/system.

It does a lot of the donkey work. Being open source it should be 'just' a matter of bolting on some extra modules/scripts to auto-locate the lanes in the image.
