Maybe you are making an assumption as well. Perhaps those abandoning the site wouldn’t find it of benefit in any case. Other than getting an answer without understanding and subsequently failing.
OK. Some members feel more responsibility for other people's education than I do. I thought the TS made a reasonable effort to solve the problem. So tell me do you think this site is gaining and retaining members or is it going the other way?

If you wanted to be more precise, you could find the Thevenin equivalent of the voltage source with the 50Ω and 5Ω resistor. but without the diode connected.
(If you don't know how to do that, now's a good time to learn. It's not that difficult.)
Then plug in a nominal silicon forward-diode-drop for the Thevenin load and calculate the current.
From that you can see how close that corresponds to the forward drop from the Shockley equation of the diode at that current (or from a typical small diode), so adjust the drop accordingly and recalculate the current.
A few simple iterative calculations like that should get you pretty close to the value for a real circuit.
(A spreadsheet program would speed the calculations).

You might get bonus points if you did that and showed how you did it.

What I think is that I’m incapable of answering this question. Simply put, I don’t know. My opinion would be as valuable as Trevor Noah’s.

This side discussion is a hijack, so this is my last thought on this.
