A second option could be to install a linkage to push down on the level sensor float, triggering a low-water shutdown, which should allow a restart when the float was released. But that might be defeated if the timed shut-off due to low water is exceeded. I saw no indication of how long that time interval is. So you will need to discover that.
Good idea, another control item that is off-board and therefore easier to interfere with. But I think it'd be easier to use an electronic, rather than mechanical, solution to simulate the low water level. If you learn what the critical timing is, you could even program in a brief "reset" within that window to prevent the full shutdown.

It is not likely that any aspect of that device can be reprogrammed. BUT brief periods of releasing the float could probably reset the timer.

OK, although there seems to already be a computer in control. And the hardware gives me the impression that none of it can be accessed and expected to ever work again. "Designed for assembly" not intended to ever be serviced.

I have presented two schemes that can allow control of the humidifier output so that the humidity can be controlled. Neither of those schemes involves electrical modifications of the present humidifier system. So what is there to be lost about???
Do you have any technical background at all?? Any experience making things without a detailed set of instructions oor ready made pieces??

No, no technical background, but I did get the idea of what you were saying, so yes i would need spoon feeding for want of a better term, but in all honesty i have not gotten a chance to take down the humidifier yet, so that i can have a better visual, but on my next water change i would, and hopefully get those creative juices flowing..

Hi All. Just an Update and I wanted to thank you all for your input, Thank you so much!!!
The little discussion sparked all sorts of possibilities in my head and brought me some experience, experience that would be valuable now and in time to come.
Anyway, not to bore with my non electronic solution, but just for knowledge's sake and hopefully someone down the road would get an idea with what they are dealing with........... because my time was limited, I moved my set up to a friend's home for the next 15 days, their environment is very stable and easy to manipulate, and well I, already made up my mind to get what I need after that, so I don't need to do anything about the Humidifier again.

However, when I buy the new one, this one I don't mind experimenting with, so if anyone is up for the challenge and wants to throw a set of detailed instructions my way on solving this.........I'm all up for it!!!

Thanks Again!!!!!!!

I would look for one that stores settings and comes up in the last set mode when power is applied. Or even one that always comes up in a default mode that is acceptable to you. No need to buy another one that requires button presses to get it started.

Thank for that .but that may not be necessary.....the one I'm buying was specifically built for the controller I'm using....

I did suggest two ways that it could be used as required, without any electrical modifications. Mechanical means of tricking the system, or working around the system. Not sophisticated at all, but effective.

Yep and I most appreciate it..and trust me I'll give them some attention, but time constraints left me without a choice but to make that decision....
