Since you brought it up, are we turning this into a guessing game? I just saw an article about bizarre cosmetic surgeries so I'll guess your surgery was either eyelash embellishment or belly button reconstruction.

Sorry to hear about that, High and Low pressure has been messing with my lower back for the last couple weeks. I put down more weed and feed while it was raining, the lawn is looking greener than ever before. Time to plan running a new main water line to the house and install a stop and waist, finishing it with the distribution valve box and run control wires. All the pipe and sprinkler heads are in the ground waiting since last fall. I have a quick disconnect Bibb for front and back, I just connect a hose.

My Dad died this year and won't be doing much in the Smoker Thread, but if his house sells quickly I may get time.

It was a dental thing. One tooth had a, "root canal and a crown" for almost $2000. That changed it from "having a cavity in an inconvenient place to drill" to "hurts when I chew and is so sensitive that I'm afraid to floss it".

Well, $2000 would buy enough gold to make one or two teeth, but no, I didn't get any gold teeth, tooth number 3 is not in the front, and if it would attract women, no thanks. I've been struck by that kind of lightening enough to learn why I shouldn't do that.

OK. Laundry is about done. Time to go to the food store. Then I get to remove the radio controller I installed in my computerized car because it made the fuel gauge quit working.

The wiring diagram shows that the fuel gauge is not connected to the radio/window motor circuits, but it quit working when I added a relay to turn off the radio when I turn off the engine. I'm really struggling to stop myself putting a bullet in this car...or the guy who designed it. So many microprocessors, so many errors in the wiring diagram, so many digital transponders instead of switches. I can't even connect a wire to the door switch to control the dome light because it isn't a switch...it's an input to a microprocessor.

There is your problem, you should quote your projects by the hour or by the project, not by the success.

That or just find something to blame it on when something doesn't work as planned. That worked for me for over 30 years.

In my world, the only thing that can go wrong is me. If it doesn't work, it's because I didn't make it work.

It would make it a much clearer picture if you were to share with us where you're located.

I think there's a different reason, but the trend of installing a handful of $2 microprocessors that cost $1000 (each) to replace seems to indicate that the Beta test is about how many people will still be able to afford cars when an average repair costs so much. I pray regularly that the engine control MPU is much more reliable than the unnecessary frills and gizmos like, "puddle lights", self-dimming rear view mirror, and keyfob entry systems. All that computing power, Vehicle Security Module, and 5 or 6 lock solenoids to avoid putting a key hole in every door? Not my style!

I have unplugged the wires to the puddle lights, the self dimming rear view mirror, the, "Beep-Boop" sound, the horn blowing in the night feature, the automatic battery killing headlights, the ceiling window motor, and the electronic compass. I zip-tied a micro-chipped ignition key to the Security Module so I can start the car with a $4 key and added a relay to get the radio to turn off when I turn off the engine...and that is not even half the gizmos I have defeated. As far as I'm concerned, the last good invention was Interval Windshield Wipers. They should have stopped there.

I will probably cuss this car until the day it dies, but buying a newer car seems to only accomplish getting more MPUs.

ps, Occasional showers creeping into the daily forecasts as the dry season slowly turns into the rainy season.
The heat isn't bad yet, but the tropical sauna is slowly arriving.
