How's the weather?

It's officially 40°C (104°F), and things will get hotter tomorrow, according to forecasts. Maybe up to 42°C (108°F)

Last saturday it was my boy's 20th birthday, and we celebrated with a BBQ with his friends. About 20 people showed up, and I treated them with my special slow-smoked rib-eye ribs, with a side of corn on the cob. And for desert, rum-splashed grilled pineapple empanadas seasoned with a few drops of lemon. The weather was a perfect 22°C (72°F) all day long, and it started raining (a light drizzle, actually) until about 1 A.M., which was exactly the time at which the party ended and people were leaving anyway... I always find it fun to socialize a little with my boy's friends, we even play Bomberman together every once in a while... they're an interesting bunch... A very memorable day it was... life's so full of blessings and little moments.

Theory? Climate change is a certainty. The hypothesis has failed to produce anything resembling reality.

They may call it a theory, for their self grandizing, when it's really an hypothesis.

Of course if you say something enough times, some will believe it, especially if the government throws, I mean allocates, major funding towards it. After all, isn't the government infallible?

I suspect in the 99th year of the 100 year prediction, someone will cause an event to ensure their site predictions came true.

Then they can say ... See ... Humans caused this.

It has been quite rainy here in West Tennessee, and I have had a roof leak...there's a big discolored spot on the sheet rock in the master bedroom. Wife isn't happy. I have gotten to the point that I am not confident of my balance and don't want to go on the roof. Finally, yesterday I got a roofer and his helper to come an look at it. He spotted (what he thinks is) the problem right away, and (he says) he fixed it. Took 30 minutes total...charged $75. If it is truly fixed, I am satisfied; if not, I got taken. Another inch or two of rain expected tonight and tomorrow, so I should know. Highs here in the low 80's F.

Medium amounts of rain approaching from the west for the next 16 hours. Looks like a good opportunity to break into the rainy season.:)

If you feel like you may have been ripped off by $75, I'd be happy to hedge your possible loss. I'll bet $75 that the guy did fix your leak. My logic is, if he was trying to take advantage of you, he would have explained your problem was much worse and would have charged you more than the price of a base service call. A local woman was in the news and paid a repair person $2000 up front and three weeks later she had a feeling the repair man took advantage if her.

My guess is that you will be fine.

Another day of Cold and Wet here in the SE Cleveland, Ohio US suburbs. That is about all we have been getting is mid 40s F. and plenty of rain. This is getting depressing. A little sunshine and mid 70s F would be nice about now.
