We are fortunate to have over 100,000 sq Km of wilderness lakes here , most within a couple of hours driving distance and many have to be portage'd in.

The heat index got to 93F yesterday, sunny and dry. I'm happy I met my schedule getting that used car ready before summer. The 1996 Aerostar isn't worth rebuilding the A/C, and I can't get parts for it, so I'm delighted that the new car has dual air, and it all works. I didn't think you could properly cool a black car in Florida. Happily surprised!

Not the happy part: I have to resume mowing the lawn in the summer.:(
Oh well. Thirty-five minutes of chasing a lawn mower around passes for exercise.;)
Why don't you make a remote controlled lawnmower? Bet there would be a line to cut your grass.
@WBahn That's an awful feeling isn't it? Glad your OK.

A nice and warm 25°C (77°F) down here... Today's my buddies' annual Ferris Bueller's Day Off! Emoji Smiley-51.png That means that we'll all be working only in the morning, and then we're gonna play hooky... we'll get together at 2PM and spend the rest of the day barbecuing and having fun!

It was "most excellent" yesterday and there is more of that in store for the next several days. Tomorrow, I am going to visit my chickens in Mississippi.

A great ugly line of thunderstorms is approaching from the north and the house is shaking a little bit. Today is about to get cancelled on account of rain, lightning, and the usual loss of internet connectivity.:(

Sunny and sweaty with a chance of summer.
Daytime heat index is still below 90F, night temperatures are still below 70F. That's not the definition of summer here, but it feels like summer.
So I put 4 new tires and a license plate on the Ford Explorer. I can drive with the dual air running.:p
Took it out for some exercise. It threw a trouble code for the engine and the turn signals quit working within 20 miles.:(
Small problems compared to what I started with.:)
I'll get it a front end alignment in the next couple of days and be all set for the next few years.
Great project for the winter months in Florida.
Saved a bunch of money.
Kind of elated today.

I got the turn signals fixed before 10 P.M.:D
I'll inquire about the trouble code after my dentist appointment.
Very tired right now. Crawling under the dashboard is one of the more inconvenient places to work on a car.
I hope I'm not all sore and grumpy tomorrow.:(
If I am, I'll just enjoy the weather.
One more cold front expected this spring.:)

Summer must be here.:(
Heat index over 90F and 10 minutes examining a bad EGR valve causes the customary Florida Drenching Sweat.
I will arrive to get the front end aligned at 4 pm and try to replace the EGR valve as the sun goes down.
That is the end of the car rehab...if the EGR valve fixes what the computer is complaining about.
I am not confident a car can tell you which part to replace.
I guess I'm going to find out.

It was pretty exciting day before yesterday. As my son and I stepped out to go to my daughters birthday the tornado sirens went off. Got to see the rotation.

When I was a kid I wanted to see a tornado. After being in 9 or so and seeing 5 closer than I like that itch has been scratched.

Thank you God, I'm done now.

I got the EGR valve in, in about 100 minutes, and the car started when I wanted it to.:)
Going back Friday to get the camber kits installed.
It's not cheap to get the suspension refurbished, but neither are the tires it would eat (at $600 a set for the cheap ones) if I didn't pay for the repairs.:(
At least it's not going to be me dripping sweat on Friday.:p

Yeah, I hate it when my car starts when I don't want it to. :D

Been there, done that. I had an old Bronco that tore up a set of very nice (read: not cheap) tires in just a couple hundred miles after the camber got knocked out. When I went to have it fixed I found out that the shims were $0.25 and the labor was over $200. I balked at that (especially since I was an undergrad living on $300/month at the time) but once the guy walked me through what had to be done to install them, I asked myself what I would do if someone came to me and offered my $200 to install the shims. Realizing that I would tell them to take a flying leap, I paid the money to have them install them.
