I am making a clock using the MSP430G2ET Launchpad but I don't seem to know how to set up the external 32 kHz oscillator.
The user manual says to remove R9 and R3, but does this mean physically removing them, or am I being stupid?

Unsolder the 0Ω resistor at R9 and install it at R7.
Unsolder the 0Ω resistor at R3 and install it at R5.

 

Unsolder the 0Ω resistor at R9 and install it at R7.
Unsolder the 0Ω resistor at R3 and install it at R5.
