high current switching

I need to switch something at 600-800 amps I think a high current SCR would be ideal for my needs but they are expensive even on ebay. I was wondering about other switching options.

No it won´t work, it is just a diode, you can´t switch anything with it.

How long will the current last? Maybe just few paralleled mosfets or IGBTs rated for the voltage could do it.

i am currently using a mechanical switch to switch 200V at 300-400amps and it sometimes fuses the switch and i would like something faster thanx for the site
