An SS36 (often marked or searched as S36) is a surface-mount Schottky barrier rectifier diode rated for a 3 Amp forward current and a 60 Volt reverse voltage. [1, 2]
Key Specifications
Type: Schottky Diode (metal-to-silicon for fast switching and low power loss)
Max Forward Current (\(I_{F}\)): 3.0 A
Repetitive Peak Reverse Voltage (\(V_{RRM}\)): 60 V
Forward Voltage Drop (\(V_{F}\)): ~0.75 V (max at 3A)
Surge Current (\(I_{FSM}\)): 100 A (peak non-repetitive)
Package Cases: Typically surface-mount SMA (DO-214AC), SMB (DO-214AA), or SMC (DO-214AB) depending on the manufacturer. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Is there a reason that you think that replacing that part will fix the controller?
More than likely, the blown diode is the symptom of a very different and, given the damage, much more severe problem. Even if the root cause was transient, it's very likely that other parts were also damaged or destroyed.
