Yes the burnt component. Google searches of variations of the words E1 02, diode, zener, surface mount, and 3 pin have not led me in the right direction of a suitable replacement.

 

what are the dimensions of the case, that will identify the casing and may help narrow the search.

Unfortunately I have no way to check. I am trying to assist someone remotely and they said they do not have a pair of calipers to measure the package size.
