So I got second hand a blower motor from a home HVAC system. The controller for the system was already disposed of so all I have is the motor with the attached ECM on it. Found a number of sources on the internet for these ECMs and from all of those I got that the programming of the particular pins and what these pins control as well as the controls on each pin are set by the OEM at install time. I want to interface a micro controller with it to have some control over speed of the motor.
Here is a snippet from a troubleshooting guide showing the pinout.

its the 16 pin connector that I'm working with. Right now I have a 24vac signal used for control. a couple of the troubleshooting guides mention a go/no go test where you attach one leg of the 24vac transformer to pin 1 and 3 (C1 and C2 apparently mean common), and the other leg to pin 12 and 15 ( 12 is R which i guess means run and pin 15 maybe G for go??? I don't know). The leg connected to pin 12/15 can be used to connect to various other pins for control. The one I am really curious about is Pin 10 (BK/PWM). If I connect 12/15 to 10 as well it goes into high speed so that works. I can have a bang bang control, 10 lifted is wimp mode and 10 connected is full boar. However, I cannot for the life of me find out specifics for pin 10 other than it "can" be used for pwm control using a 9 - 32 vdc pwm signal.
What I'm hoping is that someone can provide a little idiot check before I go through the trouble of breadboarding up a micro controller kind of close to 240VAC mains connection on the motor to just figure it out. Cause that's my next step and I'd rather know before hand if its fruitless or not before getting it all set up. If there are internal dip switches I have to change to make it work with pwm id like to know, but my google-fu is weak on this one and I haven't been able to find out. If there is a programming guide out there that I just haven't found I would be super thankful for a point in the right direction. Thank you in advance.
This should be the link to pdf that snippet came from if anyone wants it.
