so I purchased a kit online to make a small Jacob's ladder thinking it would come with instructions or, at the very least, a diagram. But nothing. My question is which wire is which? My
assumptions would tell me that the thicker gauge red wire and the black wire are the final output. But the coiled wires is where I get a little stumped. If I had to guess I would assume the bottom and top lead are positive and the middle lead is the negative, but I don't like trial and error when it comes to high voltage.
Also, for the leads that will create the moving spark, would a coat hanger suffice?
