Female Dupont crimp connector change?

Hi

I have run into really odd issue: Recently I ordered a bunch of female Dupont crimps from a random vendor at Amazon.
They came in and were too small and my good crimper (Hozan P-707) mangled them.

I complained and they immediately reimbursed me.

I ordered a second time with a different vendor. Same thing.

Now I started to read the reviews and sure enough there are 5000 happy people and a small bunch who mention the
issue 'too short".

Finally, I researched the vendor where I had ordered my first batch in 2022 and reordered there.

Guess what.. same thing. What the hell happened? Did these connectors shrink over time?

The original crimps are 11.2 mm long, the new ones 10.2.

I could not find an official drawing for a "standard" Dupont connector.

Thank you for your thoughts and measurements!!!

The overall length may not be an issue, electrically speaking. What probably matters the most is where the seating pin (latching pin) is located that seats the socket in the housing at the proper depth.
That said, if the overall length does not match your crimping tool, then something has changed as far as crimping is concerned. Not sure why that would be different from before, crimping standards should be the same.... Your tool shows crimping one clamp at a time in the diagram on Amazon. I use a tool similar to the SN-2549 which does both crimps of both clamps at the same time.

Thanks for the answers, but I have used the Hozan for years and crimped about 300- 400 of those.
I am really at a loss about this. The "ears" of these contacts are smaller, too.||

There was a VERY extensive crimper test on some website by a hobbyist, I will have to dig deep to find it again,
and after that test I bought the Hozan which was not that cheap.
I was very frustrated with my previous Chinese el-cheapo crimper and I do like the Hozan a lot.

So either I had a coincidentally large size with my first badge or something changed.
What are YOUR actual sizes?

Found it!!! https://www.mattmillman.com/info/crimpconnectors/dupont-and-dupont-connectors/

The thickness of the metal in the crimp area of the shorter connector looks thinner to me. And certainly the metal thickness makes a great deal of difference.
And I am not aware of such a thing as a "standard" crimp connector. Look at a connector manufacturer's catalog. MANY different model numbers.

Thank you very much! I will need a little research there.
Interesting that everybody call them Dupont, but Amphenol and Mouser don't.
