I don't know about that ... imagine if a wave of suicide bombers struck your city each wearing a mask of your face? ... how would people look at you even after you've "cleared" your name? ...

I didn't see anything in the video where they actually showed that the devices used were counterfeit. They merely asserted that they were. Then again, I don't see where it really matters. Once they've established that it is extremely unlikely that the devices were modified while under the manufacturer's control, does it really matter whether the devices used were counterfeits from Day 1 versus genuine devices that were purchased (or otherwise obtained) and then modified?

As for issuing press releases every time that they find out that their products are being counterfeited... that would accomplish what? Pretty much everything out there is being counterfeited and it is general knowledge. How is almost every manufacturer issuing near-daily press releases that there are counterfeit versions of most of its products out there going to change anyone's purchasing decisions?
