It occurs to me that the circuitry under discussion (diagram reproduced below) --specifically the (circled) 'cross channel networks'-- make more sense granting consideration of the following observations:
1) Despite the very high input Z figures exhibited by the (JFET) OP-Amp devices --- Practical input impedance of each amplifier circuit is, nonetheless, contingent upon its local (gain/frequency response determining) negative feedback network...
2) Where signal ground=power supply ground (as with the case to hand), true signal 'negation' (i.e. 180° phase skew) is, of course, possible only where such does not imply steady-state inverted signal component magnitudes < 0V with respect to said signal ground --- Note that the relevant aspects of the diagrammed circuitry are, in effect, 'direct coupled' (albeit rather 'lightly' so) -- hence the necessity of limitation to steady-state solutions...
Just some idle, hopefully helpful, musings...
But again! -- I'm anything but an 'expert' Re: analysis of analog audio processing systems!
