Dual transformer placement - Power Supply

I'm building a Part 15 AM tube transmitter that has two transformers in the power supply circuit.

My questions are with regard to the placement of these transformers and the proximity with one another. Are there some general guidelines or best practices I should be following? My current design layout on the board has them about 2 inches apart but can they be closer or is that not a good idea?

The main one has its primary connected to the AC line.

Thanks for any advice.

I vaguely recall some valved/tubed audio amps in the 60s/70s had the output transformer laminations at right-angles to those of the power supply transformer; presumably in an attempt to minimise mains hum.
