Dreaming of (broken) electric sheep

sorry for the rather basic question. I have a child’s toy sheep with a wiring fault. Wires from push to make switches have frayed at the control box connection. I’m keen to repair but don’t know where to begin finding a replacement for the junction and connectors. Photos attached

Back up plan is an iron and steady hand :-s

Any help gratefully received .

Are they frayed or cut? It almost looks like some connections were, by intention, not made [second pic). Is the red wire inside the plastic sheath just dangling? Or am I not seeing correctly?

Good point, so I checked. We have two of these, only the older one has issues. Looking at the second, all connections are made. On the first, the remaining connections have split insulation with exposed wire. They get a lot of abuse....

To explain, the sheep has a switch in each of the four legs, each leg triggering a different sound. Only one leg still works (relating to the made connections) if I run a screwdriver over the other terminals, the relevant sound is made.

Yeah, that sounds definitive.
