I’m repairing a Meta Quest 2 left controller and damaged a small antenna cable.
The board-side connector is still intact, but the cable-side plug (the tiny snap-on head) broke off the coax cable. From what I can tell, it looks like a U.FL / IPEX micro RF connector.

The board-side connector is still intact, but the cable-side plug (the tiny snap-on head) broke off the coax cable. From what I can tell, it looks like a U.FL / IPEX micro RF connector.
I have:
- The motherboard connector still attached and undamaged
- The cable with the connector head missing/broken
Questions:
- Is it possible to reattach or replace just the connector on the cable?
- Would replacing the entire coax cable/antenna be the correct approach?
- Is direct micro-soldering (center conductor + shield) a viable workaround, or will it cause signal issues?

- The damaged cable
Any advice on the best repair method would be appreciated.
