Displaying Timing Signals On Oscilloscope

hi

I have a timebase signal with a frequency of 2Hz. On the falling edge it outputs a very brief pulse.
I can see the two signals on the scope but the pulse is very narrow and I would like to zoom
in on it. I have the trigger set to normal at 2 volts triggered on the falling edge of the timebase.
The horizontal sweep is set to 50ms.

Since I can see the two traces, I know that the circuit is working as intended but it would be
nice to obtain a better image.

Some advice on this would be so appreciated.

Just increase the horizontal sweep speed until you see the pulse width of one pulse.
You may have to trigger on the pulse itself to see it expanded.

Your Horizontal sweep is set to 100ms/div.
Start making it smaller, e.g. 50 ms -> 1 ms or smaller.
Set the delay time to 0 ms by adjusting the Horizontal Position. A quick way is to press in the Horizontal Position knob.

DSO = ?

Here is a scope image. The channel 2 (blue trace) shows the narrow pulse on the
falling edge of the channel 1 waveform but is hard to see.
Digital scope like you have.

1. RTFM, Read The Friendly Manual
2. If you have a SDS 1202X-E or similar scope, press the Horizontal knob and Position to zoom in the trigger point using those knobs. Rotate the Horizontal knob to set Zoom, rotate Position knob to move Zoom image.

Press the Horizontal knob again to disable zoom.
