Is there a way to display wired NTSC composite video on a orphan smart phone with no service ?

Have you tried attaching a VHF antenna?

 

One of these ?

 

No wifi nor RF involved. No digital video, no HDMI, no PAL, no SECAM. No computers.
An underground crawling tethered robot with a composite camera to feed the phone somehow on its coaxial carried signal. Yes, there is TVs and monitors with auxiliar CVBS video input.

 

 

If your smart phone is USB OTG compatible, it might be possible to use a USB NTSC converter.
