I assure you I do. And I also was able to understand exactly what a 12 volt 8kw diesel heater is, as they are quite common in maritime and RV applications.Clearly chandler does not know that there are also fuel heaters for diesel engines, as well as glow plug heaters that are part of some diesel engines.
But it's not my knowledge or lack there of that's important here. Yes, the TS could have explained more in his question, but as I demonstrated, a simple search identified exactly what the question was about. But instead of pausing for literally 10 seconds, you all jumped in like a herd of bulls in a China shop, started arguing amongst yourselves about who was more wrong and came up with 3 pages of posts that are largely wrong. I've seen more informed comments on Facebook (an internet social-media thing, in case you're unfamiliar) forums.
An important part of my career has been deducing what the problem really is and A (yes, A, because frequently there are many) solution is. Often times, what somebody is asking for doesn't solve the problem.... it takes some thought and knowledge to do so.
So, my three points remain:
1. If you don't know, don't prove that fact.
2. If the question is unclear, ask for more information. If none is forthcoming, see #1.
3. If you feel you must answer but the question is unclear, maybe a 30 second search will reveal more details. If you can't "waste" 30 seconds to make a quick search, how much time are you willing waste arguing about the wrong details?
