I don’t disagree but FWIW, the lobster guys say toughness comes from overcooking. Even my 3 pounders were cooked just 20 minutes and they were tender, sweet and delicious.

Just finished my bisque and it’s fantastic!
That's another good point. Overcooking results in a chewey tough lobster and many other foods.

Yeah unfortunately that's a side issue that is of course a drawback. I would say try to get it as cooked as possible without making it too rubbery. I noticed this too even with Tilapia so i try to get it cooked very well but not too overcooked.
The downside to not cooking well enough though could be very devastating and that involves one of the most critical issues for humans: health.

Well I survived another trip to my local super market. With a limit of one per customer I grabbed the largest package of Charmin I saw so that went well. The pre-mix salad mixes were scarce but I found some we like. Soups are still hurting and sparse selection. Deli and cold cuts no problem and plenty of good fresh bakery. No donuts though and I am beginning to crave a nice couple of jelly donuts. I was able to restock my frozen raw shrimp stash so that was good. They now have the in doot and out door with one way aisles but I screwed that up as I was over halfway through the store before I noticed the added arrows on the floor. Worked out OK as I hit it early so no wait and no crowd to bitch at me for going the wrong way. My face mask in a modified bandanna which belonged to one of my dogs, actually a Budweiser bandanna. If the state wants me wearing a face mask when out in public they can provide one or at least tell me where I can get some? I call BS on that! Overall good so far today. :)

You've got a lawn - I've got 3" of snow!:( - Oh! The inequality of it all (tears!)...

Snow? We had a light coating, maybe an inch last night but are due for more going into tomorrow morning. My friend and neighbor does plowing and salting so he has us covered. His bike is wintering in my garage with mine and we help each other with other stuff. Did a new power entry service on his house last summer. Normally here in NE Ohio we are done with snow by now but been unseasonably cold and wet including late season snow.

We haven't had snow here in living memory. Ok, there was a little frost way up North and it made headlines.

What Irony: We under Corona lock-down but you cannot buy or transport beer until the end or the month or later.

Oh! Well... I suppose a 'silver lining' is to be noted (Re: regions experiencing unseasonably cool weather) in said conditions 'holding' energetic vernal/summer storms at 'bay'. --- I know I've enough on my hands sans high straightline winds, funnels, large hail and, especially, cloud-to-ground lightning strikes!:mad:

Best regards

And just like that, any hope of reliable data goes out the window.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) yesterday released new guidance implementing several provisions included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. These provisions include:

  • A Medicare add-on payment of 20% for both rural and urban inpatient hospital COVID-19 patients;
  • Waiver of the long-term care hospital (LTCH) site-neutral policy for COVID-19 patients;
  • Waiver of the LTCH “50% Rule” for COVID-19 patients; and
  • Waiver of the inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) “3-hour Rule” for COVID-19 patients.
I think doctors and even hospital bureaucrats that handle such things are largely honorable people, but that's a big thumb on the scale in favor of categorizing anything possible as Wuhan red death.

I would agree -- and even having agreed I have a hard time arguing that these provisions, or at least provisions that address the same issues, aren't needed. The next thought that comes to mind is "trust by verify", but that risks adding additional bureaucracy at a time when a big part of the problem is that the system is potentially going to be overstressed and undermanned. Plus, at what point will we even have sufficient testing capacity to do the verification?

What we could do is rely on random sampling. Pick some small fraction (and it can probably be a fairly small fraction) of cases and have an independent contractor perform a test. If that test comes back negative, then you perform ten more random tests associated with that same provider. If one of those comes back negative, you go even further. The same could be done for determining if the treatment being given and billed for was reasonable or excessive. If you make the penalties for flagrant abuse severe enough, it should keep a lid on it. You aren't trying to stamp out all graft associated with it, just keep it to a tolerable level -- and I have no problem with giving the providers a lot of benefit of the doubt since they are very much feeling their way through things as well.
