Convert Sawtooth to square wave

I think two level detectors may solve your problem. One for the high level threshold which gives an output when the signal is above that level and one for the lower threshold which gives an output when signal is below that threshold. One of these latch outputs would set a latch and the other one would clear the latch.

Why not generate the square wave directly?
A retriggerable monostable should do the job.
That looks like the answer to me - input from the green waveform, comparator set at 400mV to trigger it, then an retriggerable monostable with a time period of 200ms

hi D,
Do you have a Draft LTSpice asc file to post.?
We could use that as a starting point.

Update:
Do you also have a *.wav file of the original 'noise' signal, we could use that as the 'spike' source for a sim.

Please, see this below
S1 and S2 are sensor outputs. which are then added using an opamp. followed byenveloping.

Until post #23 I thought you wanted a constant amplitude square wave. From the picture in post #23 it looks like you want a sample and hold circuit triggered on the rising edge of the sawtooth waveform.

Sorry, if my responses were confusing.

hi D,
This asc uses and creates a wav file, plots only the waveform of interest, that we have to convert to a square wave.
Note: my lib and wav addr need to be changed to suit your setup.
test1.wav.txt [ delete the .txt]

Do you have a circuit in mind to convert the triangle to square.?

I will see what I can suggest.

Hi Eric

I was hoping a monostable multivibrator may work triggered on the negative edge of the sawtooth envelope?

hi,
This addition generates a pulse when the Vout is above the Vref.
Do you want the Height and Width of the square wave to be the same as the triangle wave.?

This simulation uses the original Vout waveform as the source, so now we can focus on getting the required output.

Hi Eric

This is great. NO each voltage pulse corresponding to each spike can be the same voltage amplitude. This is perfect. However I will need it be less than 1V.
Thanks

This whole thread seems rather silly.
The first problem that needs to be solved is to get a more appropriate Sensor.

How does your "Sensor" work ????
What is it designed to "Sense" ???? (not "Voltage")
What needs to happen when the Sensor senses an input ???? ( Not "I need a Square-Wave" ).
What is this entire contraption producing as a final product ???? ( nobody has a clue)

The question has been asked, and then ignored, at least ~6-times in this Thread,
what is this mysterious "Sensor" that nobody has ever heard of,
that creates Voltage-Spikes when an outside Voltage is applied to it ???????

What is the purpose of this entire device ? including the "Sensor" and the Square-Wave-Output ???
Is it a Military Secret Project or something ?
