I have two rechargeable emergency lights. They each contain a 6V lead acid battery. These used to run down too quickly due to high use of fluorescent tubes. One lamp has a single 9W tube while the other has two 10W tubes, which can be independently powered. I would like to convert these to use LEDs. I would appreciate any advice on procedure.

I doubt that a retrofit is worth the bother when new LED lights are inexpensive.

If you can convert to 12v (2x6v batteries), Then you can use standard 12v Edison screw base LED's , for much more efficient use.
Although they claim 6v here.?
