If you still have problems then you may need to brush up on some circuit theory and Ohm's law as you seem to be having a problem with the basic concepts.

Yes. You are right. I seem to be having a problem with the basic concepts. I'm taking the "course" here on this site and it's VERY good, but there's something I'm missing, but will hopefully get it soon.

With all of the good information provided I can tell you that yes, that MOSFET will work just fine with an Arduino for driving 12 VDC LED RGB strips as I have done it ising an Arduino PWM out. When using that MOSFET it is also wise to place 100K (I used 10K) resistors from Gate to Ground to make sure when off the gate is off. Anyway that MOSFET is working out fine.
