Computer PSU 12V to 24V conversion

I have a media cabinet which houses a bunch of media players/routers/alarm system etc.

The target output voltages for each component is between 9V and 24V. This is currently powered by an LED power supply with a few step down buck converters to the target voltages. The LED power supply is very noisy and I would like to replace with a fanless PSU which I have lying around. (Silverstone NIGHTJAR SERIES SST-NJ520).

The power requirements of my components are below:

ComponentVoltsAmpsWatts
Shield192.1141
NUC193.4265
Fan12224
Virgin12224
Security Gateway12112
USB Hub12560
Yale90.55
Mhub241.2530
Total17.28261

The above total wattage is well inside the specs of the psu.

The PSU specs state that at +12V the max load is 43A, at -12V 0.5A. The question is can I safely go from -12V to 12V to make use of the 43A restriction or should I instead consider adding an Step Up Boost converter from 12V to 24V before stepping down to the required 9V, 12V, 19V?

I've attached the manual in case it helps

Many thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "...to make use of the 43A restriction..."?

Thanks for the response Dick. Sorry that was an early morning lesson in bad grammar.

I meant to ask, if the specs state a Max Load of 43A for +12V and a Max Load of 0.5A for -12V, will attempting to go from -12V to +12V to get 24V allow me to utilise 17.28A or should I consider the Max load of this combination be 0.5A which is the Max Load of the -12V rail?

No it won't work, the -12V rail is limited to 0.5Amp, you need two atx psus together to make 24V @ 20A, with the Negative rails isolated.
