Trying to identify the diodes (P300B), resistors (this 5 band color-code doesn't get me any where ) and caps (red one and the gap cap no values) in this dual tracking rectifier circuit. C1 is the red cap, the large resistors are R1 and R2 and diodes are D1-D4.

I kind of came up with the name because it provides two DC rails on the output, but I don't really know what this is called.
The C1 cap purpose is a mystery to me. If you could explain I would appreciated very much so. The resistor color code is straight forward until I get to the yellow band, your table doesn't provide info. Do I just ignore the yellow band and treat it as 4 band resistor?
