Circuit is short while multimeter reverse probing

Hi,

In My design i have a super cap circuit..in it i can see some weird things happening.
it is 5V power rail..with multi meter impedance check with positive probe on 5V rail and negative probe on ground, i don't see any short ( it is around 12K ).
but when i probe negative probe on 5V rail and positive probe on ground i am seeing short (0 Ohm).

Does anyone faced this kind of problem.. Pls suggest me the reason behind this.

Your measurements will be artifacts if there is any voltage on those rails, such a residual charge on a capacitor. Or, an empty capacitor that large will look like a short for a very long time. On a smaller cap, you can see the apparent resistance increase as the capacitor charges.

It's hard to say much without a schematic.
