Hi folks, I need some help with charging my solar lamp please.
I have a 60 led solar lamp battery spec is 1.2v 900mAh x 5
Solar panel spec is
Multi Crystal silicon photo cell
PM = 1Wp, Vop = 9v
The unit arrived almost flat but we have not had much Sun, so I want to charge it manually. The problem is that I don't understand the panel spec ( 1wp vop = 9v)
I am wanting to know what voltage and mAh setting I should use?
Thank you very much for your help
John

The panel spec means max power is 1W Vop is the open circuit voltage of the panel , when no current is drawn .When charging the battery this will drop ... 5 x 1.2v cells in series is 6V any circuitry between panel and battery??? total power your battery can holds is 6 x 0.9 = 5.4 WHrs

In a typical fixed location on typical days it will take 2 or 3 days to fully charge this battery ..

If there is circuitry between panel and battery , you could probably charge by connecting a 9V supply to the panel , not sure ...perhaps better to wait a while , even on a cloudy day it will be charging battery ..
