You missed this part:

That is, neither lamp contact measures as a direct connection to either the chassis or the lamp power bus out of the fuse.

THAT was my whole point!!! There are TWO separate filaments in each and every bulb. They have quite different resistances. NEITHER ONE should ever connect to the chassis ground. And neither one will show a voltage when the other is powered. The brighter one is the turn signal , the less bright is the parking light. The base shell is the common return connection.

Certainly there are single filament bulbs availabl, there always have been.
But I am not talking about a volvo or any other IMPORT.
In the sixties and seventies the bulbs had two filaments. In fact,my 2005 Grand Caravan has dual filament bulbs. The 2017 has LEDs in back so that is a different ball game.

It is a free country so you are free to believe whatever you want.

Thank you for your permission.

I was not implying permission, I was just repeating facts. At least here in the USA, so far, the stated policy is freedom.
I do not tell folks how to run their lives, nor tell them what they must believe.
I do tend to inform people about apparent hazards that I see, which may not be obvious, so that they can decide their actions based on being aware of possible hazards.

I do, on occasion, get picky about the meaning of words. That comes from years of writing detailed project descriptions. Most recently that included a comment about the misuse of the word "chips", which in the users context was describing circuit board assemblies rather that integrated circuit devices.
