hi
all say that current leads voltage in capacitor.
But we know that as the voltage is applied the current cannot trace the voltage as the dielectric stops it until it breaks.can anyone explain it. !! IT GIVES ME A LOT OF ACHE!!

Hello,

A lot about capacitors can be found in the EDUCYPEDIA.
http://www.educypedia.be/electronics/capacitors.htm

Here is a part i found on the maximum working voltage:

Maximum working voltage

If the voltage across a capacitor is too high, the insulator between the plates fails to insulate and charge passes from one plate to the other. Capacitors are usually marked with the maximum working voltage to help the user avoid this situation.
A good rule of thumb is to never place a voltage across the capacitor which exceeds about two thirds of this value, especially for alternating current circuits.

Greetings,
Bertus
