Hi.
Looking for a simple snapshot / PHOTO surveillance camera triggered by motion saving in its memory card ;

NO endless VIDEO
No periodic pictures
No Wifi, no blueteeth
No trail/wildlife
No A.I.
No subscriptions
No cloud saving
No routers involved
No service provider
No fancy applications
No hundred$
No audio
Any powered, batteries, USB, wall adapter, whatever.

Dozens of brands/models/styles; all doing the same. If you know of one that takes photos, please advise. Or, if you know how to modify one to take photos; please !

As far as I know, the features you are looking for is in the software, not the camera.
The software logs continuous video, which can be more useful than static photos. It can start recording on a given trigger. You choose how long to record and for how long you want to keep the record.

Thanks. You would; I cannot. In my last brain transplant got a refurbished one. Not recommended, -cannot write an application with it:confused:-
But if you can; the motion sensing could be comparing the last image sampled and if too different*- then save the photo. Next, repeat in a minute? You have a client (me) if you write it. Have several android good without service 'smart' phones with all the necessary camera, battery, charger, memory, brains, waiting for you :) Tried an application available but did not work, and too complex to operate.

*Is it sort of a checksum comparison ? Get to the keyboard and write some code !
The images above all do video. Is it that much harder for the same hardware to do photos ? I do not get it.

Well, that crosses everything off.

I'll second the use of a wildlife camera, it seems to be what you are after EXCEPT you specify 'No trail/wildlife' for whatever reason????

Yes indeed I too have found them to be of poor life. Used Moultrie for a long time with success then they changed their manufactory or such and the reliability went from 100% to near zero.

But I've now settled on Apeman (https://apemans.com/collections/trail-camera) and so far these are proving all of cheap and reliable and long-lived.
